On the auspicious day of Ganesh Chaturthi we offer our humble obeisance to Lord Ganesha by remembering an anecdote dear to Sri Ramana Maharshi. A poor man who was a devotee of Lord Ganesha was traveling. At the time of his regular worship he created an icon of Lord Ganesha using all the Jaggery he had. When the time of offering Prasad came he realized he had nothing to offer as prasad. So he made the mistake of breaking a piece of Lord Ganesha as an offering to Him. This simple but powerful story teaches that Lord Ganesha owns everything including our own dear Self. By becoming His devotees we will learn all the intricacies of scriptures and become fully illumined. Jai Ganesha Jai Gashea Pahimam. Sri Ganesh Sri Ganesh Rakshamam.
